Intergenerational Sunday School Class
A class for people of all ages, from all walks of
life. Through this class we learn about God's will for us through
memorizing Bible verses and stories, singing songs of faith, engaging in
activities together, and sharing our faith. We learn about the
disciplines that help nurture us as we grow in faith and discipleship in
our daily lives: pray, study, worship, invite, encourage, serve, and

Music in the Church:
Discovering Our Foundations, Expanding our Horizons
Wednesdays, July 7 through 28
7:00 to 9:30pmThis class offers a unique opportunity
to grow in understanding and appreciation of music in the church through
the discussion and performance of music by Dr. Stephen Mager, conductor,
composer, and organist. Demonstrating his teaching on the organ
and piano, Dr. Mager covers such topics as the history of the communion
liturgy from its earliest Judeo-Christian roots, Martin Luther as
musician, and the way music works to express theology and inspire faith.
The class enriches those interested in Christian worship and music,
choir members, and church musicians.
Dr. Stephen Mager is organist and Music Director at Bethel Lutheran
Church, University City, since 1988 and Music Director and conductor of
the Masterworks Chorale, Belleville, Illinois.
